Gettysburg Beyond the Battle is an award-winning museum located less than a mile from the heart of downtown Gettysburg. In a town steeped in history, Beyond the Battle Museum provides a full picture of the Gettysburg story, from prehistoric times to the recent past. Here, you will learn about the people who resided here before, during, and after the Civil War’s most famous battle. The museum houses over 1,000 artifacts ranging from dinosaur footprints to cannonballs.

Opened in May 2023, Beyond the Battle Museum remains one of the top destinations for Gettysburg visitors, welcoming over 30,000 visitors annually. In its first year of operation, the museum was named Best New Museum by USA Today readers. Our immersive experience, Caught in the Crossfire, has been featured in national publications including National Geographic and The Washington Post.
